Our Program
Our anxiety treatment program gives you more than a weekly therapy hour. It is an intensive, structured program built around Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the evidence-based approach widely considered the gold standard for lasting anxiety relief. Delivered as an intensive outpatient program (IOP), this anxiety treatment program meets for several hours a day, so change happens faster than it can in once-a-week sessions. If anxiety has been narrowing your world, the program at Anxiety Centers is designed to help you widen it again, one step at a time.
What Our Anxiety Treatment Program Is
Our program is an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for anxiety, built on evidence-based Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Clients attend structured group sessions several hours a day, several days a week, working directly on the situations, sensations, and thoughts that anxiety has made feel off-limits. It is active, practical treatment, not open-ended talk.
Anxiety Centers is powered by OCD Anxiety Centers, so the program you join here is delivered by an established clinical team using a model that has helped thousands of clients. You are not starting with an unproven approach. You are starting with one that has a track record.
How Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Works for Anxiety
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) works by helping you face what anxiety tells you to avoid, then resist the safety behaviors that keep the fear alive. Over repeated practice, your nervous system learns that the feared outcome usually does not happen, and that anxiety fades on its own without escape or reassurance. That learning is what lasts.
Exposure
Exposure means gradually and deliberately approaching a feared situation, physical sensation, or thought instead of avoiding it. You work from less challenging to more challenging steps at a pace you help set, so each success builds real confidence for the next one.
Response prevention
Response prevention means letting go of the avoidance, escape, and safety behaviors that bring quick relief but keep anxiety running long term. That includes reassurance-seeking. When you stop feeding the fear with these behaviors, it loses its grip.
What to Expect Each Week
The program runs for 16 weeks, three hours per day, Monday through Friday, in a supportive group format with an 8 to 1 client-to-staff ratio. That structure gives you consistent momentum and meaningful individual attention at the same time. Adult sessions run 12 pm to 3 pm, and adolescent sessions run 3 pm to 6 pm.
Because the program is designed for ages 8 and older, treatment is matched to each client’s stage of life, whether that is a young student, a working adult, or a parent. You commit to 16 weeks, and in return you get focused, daily practice that weekly therapy cannot match.
The Anxiety Conditions We Treat
The program treats the full range of anxiety presentations, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, specific phobias, health anxiety, and separation anxiety. Whether anxiety shows up as constant worry, physical panic, or avoidance that keeps shrinking your life, the same evidence-based approach applies. Clients ages 8 and older are welcome.
In-Person and Virtual Options
You can attend the program in person at one of our locations or through our virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP), which brings the same structured, ERP-based treatment to clients at home. Research confirms that virtual treatment produces the same outcomes as in-person care, so you can choose the format that fits your life without trading away results.
Virtual treatment can be a strong fit when getting to a location is difficult, or when practicing skills in your own environment is exactly where the work needs to happen. If you are not sure which option is right for you, our admissions department can help you decide.
Our Results
Clients in our program achieve an average 64% reduction in anxiety symptoms, and 92% report satisfaction with their care. These outcomes come from an intensive, evidence-based approach applied consistently, day after day, rather than from any single technique. Real, measurable change is the goal, and it is what the program is built to deliver.
Insurance and Getting Started
Around 95% of our clients are able to use insurance to cover treatment, and our admissions department can verify your benefits before you commit to anything. Starting is straightforward: call 866-303-4227, tell us what you are dealing with, and we will walk you through the assessment and next steps. There is no pressure, just a clear path forward.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an anxiety treatment program?
An anxiety treatment program is structured, intensive care that goes beyond weekly therapy. Ours is an intensive outpatient program (IOP) built on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), where clients work several hours a day, several days a week, directly on the fears and avoidance that anxiety creates. The added intensity is what drives faster, lasting change.
How does Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) treat anxiety?
ERP treats anxiety by combining two moves: gradually facing feared situations, sensations, or thoughts, and resisting the avoidance and safety behaviors that bring short-term relief. Through repeated practice, you learn that the feared outcome rarely happens and that anxiety eases without escape or reassurance. That firsthand learning is what reduces anxiety over time.
How long is the program, and what is the schedule?
The program runs 16 weeks, three hours per day, Monday through Friday. Adult sessions meet 12 pm to 3 pm, and adolescent sessions meet 3 pm to 6 pm. This consistent, daily structure is what separates an intensive outpatient program from standard weekly therapy and helps clients build momentum quickly.
What types of anxiety does the program treat?
The program treats generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, specific phobias, health anxiety, and separation anxiety, for clients ages 8 and older. Whatever form anxiety takes, from relentless worry to physical panic to life-shrinking avoidance, the same evidence-based, ERP-based approach is used and tailored to each client.
Does insurance cover anxiety treatment?
In most cases, yes. About 95% of our clients are able to use insurance to help cover treatment. Our admissions department can verify your specific benefits before you enroll, so you know what to expect. Call 866-303-4227 and we will check your coverage and explain your options with no obligation.
Can I do the program from home?
Yes. Our virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP) delivers the same ERP-based treatment as our in-person program, and research confirms the outcomes are the same. You get structured group sessions and clinical support from home, which also lets you practice new skills in the real settings where anxiety tends to show up.
